New music from a growing artist, Bucket List Project is the debut LP for Saba. Saba has been featured on well known albums including Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book and Acid Rap, Noname’s Telefone, and Jamila Wood’s HEAVN and has been gaining traction since his own 2014 mixtape, Comfortzone. Featuring artists like Twista, Noname, and more, this thirteen track album is filled with seamless collaboration. As the title suggests, the album is about chasing dreams and the pressure for success. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of Saba’s background and the future he envisions. Not only does he rep his West Side Chicago origins, but he depicts the lifestyle through poetic verses one song after the next.
Saba spoke with Red Eye back in September when the album was still in the works, stating “Whatever it’s supposed to do, I know that it will. I’m really hoping that it just connects with who it’s supposed to connect, like a kid from the West Side of Chicago.”
The LP has received support from fellow rap artists, notably Chance the Rapper and Lupe Fiasco, both on Twitter and on the album.
