B urr! Gucci Mane is back! To get the holiday spirits in high gear, Gucci dropped his highly anticipated Christmas album, The Return of East Atlanta Santa. As this year is coming to a close, Gucci Mane has had a big year, doing big numbers and dropping some heat on us since his release.
The album boasts some star power such as Drake, Bryson Tiller, and Travis Scott. Compared to his previous releases this year, this album reflects more of the new and improved Gucci than the previous two albums, Everybody Looking and Woptober. At 13 songs, The Return of East Atlanta Santa features production from Mike WiLL Made-It, Metro Boomin, and Zaytoven.
Guwop resonates deeply about his new lifestyle throughout the album, but it seems to fade towards the latter of album. Although his work is now different from his previous releases, much of it is contributed to his sobriety from drinking and smoking (ironic to his track “Both” featuring Drake). Who would’ve guessed that prison has changed him for the better?
